Teen arrested with loaded gun during Dorchester investigation

BOSTON — Officers arrested a 17-year-old male with a loaded firearm at about 11:24 a.m. on Dec. 20, following a foot chase during a firearm investigation at 505 Washington Street.

According to the police report, officers were advised of a juvenile suspect armed with a gun.

Upon attempting to engage the suspect, he fled on foot.

An officer from Dorchester District Court joined the pursuit as the suspect was seen carrying a firearm.

Despite multiple commands to stop and disarm, the suspect continued to flee but was eventually safely apprehended with the help of responding officers.

The firearm was identified as a Ruger 9mm with one round in the chamber and 15 rounds in the magazine.

The juvenile has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, defacement of a firearm serial number, and trespassing.

He is slated for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
