Dorchester man arrested on multiple firearm charges after shooting

BOSTON — A 20-year-old Dorchester resident was arrested Tuesday on charges related to a shooting incident that occurred the previous day, police said.

Francisco Guerrero was apprehended by detectives from District B-3 (Mattapan) on Dec. 19, following an investigation into a gunfire report at 158 Spencer Street early Monday morning.

According to authorities, Guerrero faces four counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

He is set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Officers were called to the scene around 12:51 a.m. on Dec. 18, after receiving reports of shots being fired.

Investigators learned that an argument had escalated, leading to Guerrero allegedly firing a round at a home.

No injuries were reported, and the suspect reportedly fled by car.

The incident remains under investigation.
