Single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 sends woman to hospital

WATERBURY — A Michigan woman was hospitalized after her car overturned on Interstate 89 Monday night, according to Vermont State Police.

Alyssa Foley, 21, of Traverse City, MI, was driving northbound near mile marker 61.4 when she suffered a medical event around 9:36 p.m. Her 2021 Subaru Forester veered off the median and flipped over, ending up in the southbound lanes.

Foley, who was wearing her seatbelt, was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center with neck pain.

Officials declared the vehicle totaled.

No other injuries were reported, and speed was not considered a contributing factor in the incident.

The crash resulted in lane restrictions on the Interstate as authorities conducted their investigation and crews worked on clean-up efforts.

Conditions at the time were clear with dry roads.
