FAIR HAVEN — A man wanted on an arrest warrant was taken into custody by Fair Haven Police after being stopped for speeding on Washington Street, authorities said Wednesday.

Nigel A. Reeks, 38, of Whitehall, New York, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, following a routine traffic stop.

The arrest occurred after a check revealed that Reeks was wanted on a warrant issued by the Hon.

Judge Cortland Corsones of the Rutland District Court.

Reeks failed to appear in court on June 30 for prior charges of driving with a suspended license, leading to the issuance of the warrant.

Upon his arrest, he was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center.

Officer Mark Gutel of the Fair Haven Police Department led the investigation that resulted in Reeks’ apprehension.
