Sheldon man cited for hit-and-run, negligent operation after crash injures woman

SHELDON — A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 78 and Rice Hill Road led to a Sheldon man being cited for leaving the scene of an accident and negligent operation, Vermont State Police reported.

The crash occurred on Dec. 8 at 11:21 p.m. when a Ram truck operated by Tyler Dragon, 22, ran a stop sign on Rice Hill Road and struck a Nissan Altima.

The impact sent both vehicles down an embankment, with the Ram truck rolling over.

Dragon reportedly fled the scene on foot.

Tara Wyman, 20, from Bakersfield, the operator of the Nissan Altima, sustained several injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation, police identified Dragon as the driver of the Ram truck.

On Dec. 18, he was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident with injury resulting and gross negligent operation.

Dragon is scheduled to appear in court to respond to the charges.
