KILLINGTON — A collision between a sedan and a bus on Killington Road near Vale Rd resulted in significant damage to one vehicle but no injuries on Dec. 17 at approximately 10:55 a.m.

Vermont State Police from the Rutland Barracks responded to the incident involving a 2016 Mazda MZ3, driven by Heather Hays, 40, of Killington, and a 2011 Gillig Low Floor bus, operated by Daniel Euber, 50, of Rutland.

The crash occurred when Hays, traveling east on Vale Road, attempted to turn right onto Killington Rd and failed to yield to the bus, which was heading south.

The front end of Hays’ vehicle sustained heavy damage upon impact with the bus, which only experienced minor contact damage on the passenger side.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and despite the severe damage to the Mazda, there were no injuries reported.

The conditions were clear, and the road was dry, which potentially helped prevent more serious outcomes.

The State Police are currently investigating the crash.
