Danby man arrested on assault, unlawful restraint charges

DANBY — A 20-year-old Danby man was arrested Sunday morning after police responded to reports of a family fight, according to Vermont State Police.

Warren Webster was taken into custody on charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, interference with access to emergency services, and unlawful restraint in the second degree.

Authorities were called to the scene on John Corey Rd. in Danby at about 10:25 a.m. Rutland City Police initially responded but were unable to locate the individuals involved and called in assistance from Vermont State Police.

The investigation revealed that Webster had allegedly caused pain or injury to a household member, denied them access to emergency services, and restrained them against their will.

Following his arrest, Webster was held without bail at the Marble Valley Correctional Center.

He is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division, on Dec. 18 for arraignment on the charges.

In accordance with policy, the Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim in this case.
