Amesbury men arrested on attempted murder, assault charges

AMESBURY — Two local men were arrested early Saturday morning on charges of attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon following a reported stabbing in Tallowood Lane.

Amesbury Police were called to the scene at 1:09 a.m. on Dec. 16 after receiving reports of a possible stabbing.

Officers and detectives quickly responded to both the location of the incident and a nearby hospital.

Following the initial investigation, police apprehended Cooper Wile, 23, and Parker James Wile, 20, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Both suspects are charged with attempted murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, including a knife and a handgun.

The 20-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was reportedly visiting the Wiles in Amesbury when the attack occurred.

Police Chief Craig Bailey indicated that the victim and the accused knew each other and stressed that this was not a random act of violence.

The Amesbury Police Department is maintaining confidentiality on specific details of the ongoing investigation to preserve its integrity.
