Winchendon drug raid leads to two arrests, seizure of narcotics and cash

WINCHENDON — A collaborative drug enforcement effort on Thursday led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of various drugs and cash from a Maple Street residence.

Members of the Winchendon Police Department, North Worcester County Drug Task Force, and Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit executed a search warrant at 296 Maple St. where they discovered suspected crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, $1,982 in cash, and items indicative of drug distribution.

Brian Lafrennie, 36, was taken into custody and faces charges including possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, and failure to register as a sex offender.

Paul Laprise Sr., 58, was also arrested and charged with possession of a Class A substance and possession of a Class B substance.

The raid is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.

Both suspects are awaiting arraignment and further legal proceedings.
