Dover police make second arrest in burglary spree

DOVER — Chief William Breault of the Dover Police Department announced Friday that a second suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries that took place from the evening of Dec. 3 into the early hours of Dec. 4.

The latest arrest concludes an investigation which led to two Sanford, Maine residents facing multiple counts of felony burglary.

Dover Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit worked alongside Maine investigators to identify the suspects as Thomas Hendrix, 40, and Diana Bishop, 59.

Dover detectives obtained arrest warrants for both Hendrix and Bishop on Dec. 8.

Hendrix was taken into custody at the York County Jail by the York County Sheriff’s Department, where he was already detained for an unrelated offense.

Bishop surrendered to the Sanford Police Department on Dec. 13, where she was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice.

The collaborative investigation received significant support from the Sanford and Kennebunk Police Departments, the York County Sheriff’s Office, and the Biddeford Police Department.

The Dover Police Department expressed gratitude for the cooperation and assistance provided by these agencies.
