SEEKONK — A Rhode Island man is facing several charges following a knifepoint robbery at a Seekonk liquor store, authorities said.

Gary Tallo, 32, of Johnston, is slated for arraignment Thursday in Taunton District Court on charges that include armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest, along with other offenses.

He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Police were called to Winn’s Liquor late Wednesday after a report of an ongoing armed robbery.

The suspect, described as a white male in a black hoodie, was allegedly threatening the store clerk with a knife.

During the robbery, he is said to have assaulted an employee and stolen an undisclosed amount of cash, liquor, and cigarettes.

Responding officers spotted a man matching the suspect’s description fleeing on foot.

After a brief chase, Tallo was found in a nearby yard still in possession of the knife.

He was apprehended by police at gunpoint and taken into custody without further incident.

Recovered at the scene were the items reported stolen from the store.

Tallo’s arraignment will address the multiple charges stemming from the incident.
