Royalton man arrested for DUI after disturbance call

ROYALTON — A local man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a disturbance call earlier this evening.

Royalton Police Department officers responded to a call at 2336 VT-14 at 6:36 p.m. regarding a disturbance.

Before their arrival, one of the individuals involved, Evan Rogers, 23, of Rochester, left the scene in a vehicle.

Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle and expressed concern that the driver might be intoxicated.

Officers Gardner and McRae located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Railroad Street at 6:51 p.m. Following an investigation, Rogers was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

Rogers has been cited to Windsor Superior Court on the charge and is scheduled to appear on Dec. 19 at 8 a.m.
