Driver arrested for DUI following single-vehicle crash in St. George

ST. GEORGE — Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Forest Road Monday night, arresting a Maine man on suspicion of driving under the influence.

At 6:44 p.m., authorities arrived at the scene where they found 32-year-old Edward Whitehead of Gorham, Maine, had driven his vehicle off the road.

Upon investigation, police observed signs of impairment and took Whitehead into custody for DUI.

Whitehead was transported to the Williston State Police Barracks for processing.

He received a criminal citation and is set to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Chittenden Criminal Division, on Dec. 28 at 8:30 a.m. to face the DUI charge.
