Brockton woman found dead in East Bridgewater, authorities investigating

BROCKTON — Authorities are investigating the death of a Brockton woman whose body was found in an East Bridgewater yard, officials from the Massachusetts State Police and local police department said.

Nicole Swan, 42, was found deceased Sunday morning after East Bridgewater Police received a call at about 9:24 a.m. from a resident of Belmont Street reporting an unconscious person in their side yard.

Officers and emergency personnel found Swan face down on the grass and pronounced her dead at the scene, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J.

Cruz and East Bridgewater Police Chief Michael Jenkins.

Massachusetts State Police Detectives, assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, were contacted by the East Bridgewater Police to assist in the investigation, which is currently active and ongoing.

Initial findings suggest that the incident was not a random act, and officials have indicated there is no threat to the general public.

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is tasked with determining the exact cause and manner of Swan’s death.
