COVENTRY — A 34-year-old man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident after his vehicle struck a telephone pole on Vermont Route 14 N late Sunday night.

Vermont State Police said Nicholas Blake of Morgan was driving a 2015 GMC Sierra when he lost control and crashed into the pole around 9:49 p.m. due to wet road conditions amid ongoing rain.

Blake was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the collision, which caused significant front-end damage to his vehicle.

Authorities reported that Blake left the crash site before troopers arrived and was later located and identified as the driver.

He was subsequently issued a citation to appear in court to face charges for the hit-and-run incident.

No other vehicles were involved, and no hospitalization was necessary.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
