Winooski man cited for excessive speed on Interstate 89

GEORGIA — A Vermont State Police Trooper clocked a vehicle at 105 MPH on Interstate 89 early Thursday morning, leading to a citation for a Winooski man.

Andrew Peterson, 33, was observed speeding northbound near mile marker 112.8 around 8:45 a.m., where the posted limit is 65 MPH.

After being stopped by the trooper, Peterson was handed a criminal citation to appear before the Franklin County Superior Court Criminal Division.

He will face charges for excessive speed.

In addition to the criminal citation, Peterson received a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint with a fine of $599.00.

Authorities have not released any further details regarding the incident.
