DORCHESTER — Officers arrested 52-year-old Trang Duong on Wednesday morning, following a drug operation that uncovered significant quantities of fentanyl and a firearm.

The arrest occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 6, after law enforcement executed search warrants at a residence on 8 Ellsworth Street as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

The search led to the seizure of a F.lli Pietta firearm, 110 rounds of 9mm ammunition, approximately 65 grams of fentanyl, 8 grams of crack cocaine, and around $10,960 in U.S. currency.

Duong, a Dorchester resident, faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, trafficking in class A drugs, and possession with intent to distribute class A and B drugs.

The accused is slated for arraignment at Roxbury District Court.

The successful operation underscores the continued efforts by law enforcement to combat the opioid crisis and remove illegal weapons from the community.
