Cabot man arrested for aggravated domestic assault

CABOT — A Cabot man was taken into custody by Vermont State Police on charges of first degree aggravated domestic assault following an incident on Dec. 5.

Authorities said they responded to a domestic altercation at approximately 5:19 p.m. where they learned that George Grant, 38, had allegedly assaulted a family member.

According to the police, Grant struck the victim and poured turpentine on her before fleeing the scene.

The next day, troopers located and arrested Grant in Cabot.

He was lodged at the Northeast Correctional Facility pending further proceedings.

The Vermont State Police, consistent with their policy, did not release the name of the victim of the assault.
