Wells man arrested for DUI after crashing into power pole

RUPERT — At approximately 4:07 p.m. on Dec. 4, Vermont State Police responded to a report of a vehicle collision on VT Route 30 near Danforth Drive.

Jeremey M. Cary, 39, of Wells, was driving a 2008 Ford F350 northbound when his vehicle swerved off the road and struck a power pole.

The vehicle was totaled in the crash, but Cary, who was wearing his seatbelt, was uninjured.

Troopers at the scene observed signs of impairment, and after conducting a roadside investigation, arrested Cary on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

He was processed at the Manchester Police Department, with assistance from a Drug Recognition Expert from the Winhall Police Department.

Following processing, Cary was released to the custody of a sober adult.

The incident remains under investigation by Vermont State Police.
