ARLINGTON — A single-vehicle crash on VT Route 7A left a Jeep Grand Cherokee totaled, but the 17-year-old driver emerged unscathed Tuesday morning, according to the Vermont State Police.

Authorities responded to the accident near 4519 VT Route 7A shortly before 10 a.m. under clear skies and on dry road conditions.

The Manchester juvenile, whose name was not released due to age, was northbound when the vehicle veered off the road’s shoulder and into a ditch, traveling around 40 feet before coming to an uncontrolled stop.

Despite the heavy front-end damage to the vehicle, the young operator, who was properly restrained by a seatbelt, managed to avoid injury.

No other vehicles were involved, and no hospitalization was necessary.

Vermont State Police were on the scene to investigate the incident.

They were assisted by Paul’s Towing from Manchester in recovering the damaged vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but no further details have been released at this time.
