St. Johnsbury man charged with violation of abuse protection order

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was arrested Saturday evening for allegedly violating an abuse protection order, according to law enforcement officials.

Deputy Tyler Deos and Corporal Steven Hartwell of the St. Johnsbury Police Department and Caledonia County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on Memorial Drive at 6:57 p.m. where they encountered 31-year-old Saladene Stevens of St. Johnsbury.

During the stop, an investigation revealed that Stevens was in breach of an existing abuse protection order.

Stevens was taken into custody without incident.

Following the arrest, Stevens was released on a citation to appear in Caledonia County District Court.

The date for his court appearance has not been disclosed.
