RUTLAND — A Rutland man was arrested late Monday night on charges of domestic assault and interfering with access to emergency services, according to the Vermont State Police.

Troopers responded to a call at the Cortina Inn at approximately 9:44 p.m. where they discovered that 25-year-old Sequoyah Parchment had allegedly caused bodily injury to a family or household member.

Parchment is also accused of preventing the victim from calling for help during the incident.

Following the investigation, Parchment was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing.

He was later released with court-ordered conditions.

The case remains under investigation, and Parchment will appear in court to answer to the charges.
