Boston police seek public’s help to ID package theft suspect

BOSTON — Detectives from the Boston Police Department’s District B-3 are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual connected to the theft of numerous packages in the Mattapan neighborhood.

According to authorities, a resident noticed a cigarette odor and discovered several tampered packages in the lobby of a building located on River Street.

Surveillance video obtained by the building management revealed the suspect forcibly entering the premises and making off with an estimated 20 to 25 parcels, while also damaging others.

The Boston Police Department is diligently investigating the circumstances of the incident and encourages anyone with information to contact District B-3 Detectives at 617-343-4712.
