Nashua man arrested for over $30,000 theft from U-Haul storage

NASHUA — A local man has been arrested in connection with a theft of more than $30,000 worth of property from a self-storage container at a U-Haul facility, police said.

David Alan Retter, 38, of 19 Flagg Road, Hollis, New Hampshire, was taken into custody on a felony arrest warrant charging him with Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, according to the Nashua Police Department.

The theft was initially reported to officers on Aug. 4, after employees of U-Haul, located at 286 Daniel Webster Highway, discovered the loss of property from one of their storage units.

Following the report, detectives were assigned to the case and through their investigation, identified Retter as the suspect.

After gathering sufficient evidence, detectives obtained a warrant for Retter’s arrest.

He was subsequently released on $2,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-Southern District on Dec. 28.

The Nashua Police Department has put out a call for anyone with additional information regarding the incident to come forward.
