PANTON — A 22-year-old Vergennes man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed into parked cars on Panton Road, state police said.

Ethan A. Bissonette was driving a 2018 Subaru Forester when he failed to navigate a bend in the road and struck two parked vehicles near the intersection of Panton Road and Jersey Street at 10:26 p.m. Saturday, according to a Vermont State Police report.

The crash occurred under cloudy skies on a wet road, authorities said.

Bissonette, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Troopers noted indicators of impairment when speaking with Bissonette, who was then taken into custody.

He was released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, at a later date.

The Forester suffered front-end contact damage.
