Two-vehicle crash in Newbury leaves car damaged, tractor trailer sought

NEWBURY — A collision between a car and a tractor trailer on Interstate 91 North near mile marker 107 resulted in moderate damage to the car, while the tractor trailer left the scene, Vermont State Police reported.

The incident occurred on Dec. 1 at around 4:52 p.m. amid cloudy skies and light rain, causing wet road conditions.

Lanette Wright, 63, of Danville, was wearing her seat belt when her 2015 Volkswagen Golf struck the rear of a log-laden tractor trailer, according to authorities.

While Wright’s vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage, she did not report any injuries, and hospitalization was not necessary.

The tractor trailer, which continued northbound after the crash, is believed to have minor damage to its rear impact guard.

State troopers are seeking assistance in identifying the tractor trailer involved.

Responding to the crash were members of the Woodsville Ambulance and the Wells River Fire Department, who assisted the state troopers at the scene.
