Irasburg woman arrested for violation of abuse prevention order

NEWPORT — Vermont State Police arrested a 36-year-old Irasburg woman Wednesday afternoon for allegedly violating an abuse prevention order.

Troopers from the Derby Barracks responded to a call on US Route 5 at approximately 3:17 p.m. regarding the breach of a court-issued order.

Upon investigation, authorities determined that Chrissy Lucas had contravened the legal directive designed to protect an undisclosed victim.

Lucas was located at her Irasburg home where she was taken into custody without incident.

Following her arrest, she was processed and subsequently cited to appear at the Orleans County Criminal Division to respond to the charge.

The court appearance is scheduled as per the legal requirements.
