Worcester police seize drugs, crossbow in Gage Street apartment raid

WORCESTER — Vice Squad officers from the Worcester Police Department executed a search warrant on Nov. 29 at approximately 7:15 p.m. on a Gage Street apartment, resulting in the arrest of a 33-year-old man and the seizure of suspected narcotics and a weapon.

The target of the warrant was Francis Mattioli, who was found and detained in one of the bedrooms upon officers’ entry.

During the search of the premises, authorities uncovered bags containing substances believed to be fentanyl, heroin, and powder cocaine, alongside packaging materials.

A crossbow was also found in the apartment.

Mattioli has been charged with trafficking in a Class B substance in the quantity of 18-36 grams, possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute, and carrying a dangerous weapon.

The Worcester Police Department continues to investigate the case.
