Pittsfield bank robbed at gunpoint, police seek information

PITTSFIELD — On Wednesday, an armed robbery occurred at the NBT Bank on Merrill Road, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.

The Pittsfield Police Department reported that at approximately 5 p.m., a man brandishing a firearm entered the bank, demanded cash, and fled with an unspecified amount of money.

The suspect, described as a white male, has not been apprehended, and the direction of his escape remains unknown.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

Authorities are calling on the public to assist in the investigation.
