PITTSFIELD — An armed robbery occurred at NBT Bank on Merrill Road on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from local authorities.

At approximately 5 p.m., the Pittsfield Police Department responded to the scene after a male suspect brandishing a firearm demanded cash from bank personnel.

He successfully fled with an undisclosed sum of money and has not been apprehended.

The individual in question is described as a white male, but further details regarding his identity remain unknown.

The police have reported no injuries in connection with the robbery.
