MANCHESTER — A multi-agency operation led to the arrest of a man accused of a 2021 sexual assault, authorities announced Thursday.

Jimmie Lee Carlton, 57, of Littleton, was taken into custody on Nov. 29 following a collaboration between the Manchester Police Anti-Crime Unit, the Littleton Police Department, and the NH State Probation and Parole Office.

The arrest culminated a lengthy investigation that began after a woman reported being sexually assaulted at gunpoint in Manchester.

Detectives worked to identify Carlton as the suspect, ultimately securing a warrant for his arrest.

He faces charges of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault and Criminal Threatening with a Firearm.

Officials expressed concern that Carlton may have committed similar offenses in the past.

The Manchester Police Department is urging anyone with additional information, or those who may have been victims or witnesses, to contact Detective Brendan Langton at 603-792-5511 or Detective Kevin Lally at 603-670-6993.

Carlton is currently detained for a parole violation related to a previous robbery conviction.
