Driver charged with DUI after crashing into guardrail on I-91 in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 21-year-old Sheffield man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle into a guardrail on Interstate 91 late Wednesday night.

Vermont State Police responded to the single-vehicle accident near Mile Marker 135.6 at approximately 11:20 p.m.

The driver, identified as Dylan Williams, reportedly lost control of his vehicle, struck the guardrail, and continued to drive before authorities arrived at the scene.

Williams showed no signs of injury from the crash and did not require hospitalization.

However, during their interaction, troopers observed signs of impairment.

Williams was taken into custody at the scene and later processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks.

He was released pending a future court appearance to address the DUI charge.
