South Boston teen arrested with loaded gun at school

BOSTON — Officers from the School Police Unit and District C-6 responded to a report of a found weapon at about 2:06 p.m. on Tuesday at 215 Dorchester Street, authorities said.

School staff, suspecting a student of carrying a firearm, removed the individual from class and discovered a loaded firearm inside the student’s backpack.

The staff immediately notified the Boston Police, who took custody of the weapon.

The 14-year-old male student was arrested and charged with delinquency for unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and for carrying a firearm on school grounds.

The juvenile is slated for arraignment in Boston Juvenile Court.
