HARTLAND — A single-vehicle crash on Barron Hill Road near Route 12 resulted in minor injuries for a local man Wednesday morning.

Gregory Daniels, 50, of Hartland, was driving his 2021 Lexus RX 350 downhill when he encountered ice on the road around 10 a.m.

According to the State Police, Daniels attempted to brake for an oncoming vehicle but lost control, causing his vehicle to slide and collide with an embankment.

The impact led to the Lexus rolling over onto its roof.

Daniels, who was wearing his seatbelt, managed to self-extricate from the overturned vehicle.

He sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Dartmouth Hospital for evaluation.

Troopers, Hartland fire personnel, and Rescue teams responded to the scene.

The clear weather conditions did not prevent the road from being hazardous due to snow and ice cover.

State Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but the initial findings suggest that the icy road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash.

The vehicle suffered total damage and is reported as a total loss.
