LACONIA — Former home contractor Gerard Michael Healey was indicted on multiple counts of felony theft by the Belknap County Grand Jury on Friday, Nov. 17, according to Attorney General John M. Formella.

Healey, 56, faces two class A felony counts of Theft by Misapplication of Property and one class A felony count of Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer.

The indictments allege that Healey engaged in a scheme to steal over $1,500 by soliciting and receiving deposits from eight customers for home renovation projects, which he then used for unrelated purposes.

One indictment accuses Healey of stealing over $1,500 from a customer identified as R.C., failing to make a specified payment or distribution to a third person as agreed upon and instead treating the money as his own.

The second Theft by Misapplication of Property indictment makes similar allegations regarding funds received from C.H. and T.H.

These charges are an extension of an investigation that had already resulted in Healey being charged with 19 misdemeanor counts for violating New Hampshire’s Consumer Protection Act, with the total amount stolen just under $209,000.

Healey is set to be arraigned at the Belknap County Superior Court on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m.
