Bomoseen man charged with lewd conduct involving a child

BOMOSEEN — A local man has been arrested on charges of lewd or lascivious conduct with a child, according to the Vermont State Police.

Detective Troopers from the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Troop B-West, were alerted to a possible sexual offense against a child on Nov. 20.

The investigation led to Lawrence R. Hall, 79, who was responsible for the care of a young girl at his residence on VT Route 30.

Investigations revealed that Hall watched pornography and masturbated in the presence of the juvenile on multiple occasions while she was in his home.

On Nov. 27, detectives interviewed Hall at his residence, which resulted in his arrest.

Hall was taken to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

He received a flash citation to appear before the Rutland Criminal Division on Nov. 28 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the charge of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct with a Child under 13 VSA 2602.

The Vermont State Police have not disclosed the identity of the victim, in keeping with policies to protect the privacy of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
