St. Albans robbery suspect sought after convenience store heist

ST. ALBANS — Authorities are on the lookout for a male suspect following a robbery at the Breakyard Convenience Store located at 97 Federal Street in Saint Albans City last night.

Saint Albans Police Department officers responded to a panic alarm activated at the store on Nov. 20, at about 9:38 p.m. Upon arrival, they determined that a robbery had taken place.

Security footage shows the suspect entering the store five minutes prior to the alarm, around 9:33 p.m.

The man, of medium build and standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, was clad in a distinctive red and black waist-length winter jacket with a hood and a black balaclava covering his face.

Without displaying any weapons, the suspect demanded cigarettes and cash from the store clerk.

He subsequently fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash and goods.

The Saint Albans Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the individual in question.
