Wrong-way driver arrested on I-93 in Canterbury

CANTERBURY — A wrong-way driver was arrested late Friday night after being stopped by state police on Interstate 93.

At approximately 11:51 p.m. on Nov. 24, State Police received reports of a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes between mile markers 53-49.

Six minutes later, Trooper McGrath of the NHSP Troop D Barracks located the vehicle at mile marker 46.8 as it approached him head-on.

Zachary William Bunker, 40, of Gilford, was arrested after a roadside investigation.

He faces charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving.

Bunker was bailed and released and is due to appear at the Merrimack Superior Court on Dec. 28 at 1 p.m.
