Wilton man killed in Route 101 crash near Milford

MILFORD — A single-vehicle accident on Route 101 claimed the life of a Wilton man on Nov. 24.

Milford Police, along with Fire and Ambulance services, responded to the crash at approximately 4:09 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle accident with injury.

New Hampshire Department of Transportation and Amherst Police also provided assistance at the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found the driver deceased inside the vehicle.

The early investigation indicated that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 101 approaching the Route 13 south overpass when it veered off the road and collided with trees.

The driver was identified as 52-year-old Arthur Hall of Wilton.

The stretch of Route 101 near Route 13 South was closed for about four hours while authorities managed the aftermath of the accident.

Preliminary findings suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor to the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are appealing to witnesses or those with information about the incident to contact Sgt. Nate Stone at 603-249-0630 ext. 365.
