Leicester man arrested in connection with Worcester homicide

HAVERHILL — A Leicester man was arrested Friday in connection with the death of a woman at a Worcester massage parlor, police said.

Marcel Santos-Padgett, 31, was taken into custody without incident at 4 Colombia Park at approximately 4 p.m. by authorities executing an outstanding arrest warrant for Armed Assault to Murder.

The warrant was issued following an investigation into the death of a female at 383 Pleasant St. in Worcester.

Santos-Padgett is now facing charges related to the woman’s death, which police have described as suspicious.

The Worcester Police Department expressed its gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Squad and the Haverhill Police Department in apprehending the suspect.

The original incident occurred on Nov. 23 when Worcester Police responded to a call at Angie’s Body Work Spa regarding a female with a possible medical issue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious woman who was later pronounced dead by emergency medical services.

Worcester Police Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident and have appealed to the public for any information.
