One dead, one injured in early morning Cambridge shooting

CAMBRIDGE — A fatal shooting early this morning in Central Square is under investigation by local authorities, officials said.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Christine Elow confirmed that Cambridge Police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 12:30 a.m. near 10 Magazine Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds beside a black Tesla on the roadway.

Both victims were quickly transported to a Boston hospital, where a 27-year-old female was pronounced dead.

The second victim, a 26-year-old male, is currently receiving treatment for injuries described as non-life threatening.

As detectives work to piece together the events leading to the shooting, the Cambridge Police Department is seeking assistance from the public.
