Two men arrested for stealing shopping carts from Fair Haven Walgreens

FAIR HAVEN — Two men were arrested by Fair Haven Police on charges of petit larceny following an investigation into a reported theft at a local Walgreens.

Lucas J. McCane, 21, of Queensbury, New York, and Liam T.

Wilson, 21, of Jericho, were taken into custody on Nov. 21 after police investigated a theft reported on Nov. 14.

Authorities were called to the Walgreens where they discovered two shopping carts, valued at $600, had been stolen from the parking lot.

The investigation, led by Sgt. Dale Kerber and Ptl. Mark Gutel, revealed that McCane and Wilson had visited the store and upon leaving, took the shopping carts without permission.

Both men subsequently turned themselves in to the authorities and admitted their involvement in the incident.

The stolen property has been recovered, and McCane and Wilson were arrested and issued citations to appear in Rutland District Court to answer to the charges.
