Dartmouth arrest reveals crack cocaine, woman faces drug charges

DARTMOUTH — Detectives from the Dartmouth Police Department Community Impact Unit arrested Crystal Ervin, 36, of New Bedford, on Tuesday afternoon on an outstanding drug-related warrant and found her in possession of crack cocaine.

While performing surveillance on Nov. 21 at around 2:30 p.m., officers encountered Ervin, who was wanted on a warrant.

During her arrest, they discovered approximately 11 grams of crack cocaine hidden on her person.

Ervin, a resident of Coggeshall Street in New Bedford, has now been charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug in addition to the initial warrant.

The Dartmouth Police Department is continuing its investigation into the case.
