Manchester police investigate early morning gunshot, seek information

MANCHESTER — Police responded to a Shotspotter activation at 455 Union Street after a single gunshot was heard early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. when Manchester Police arrived at the scene.

A witness reported hearing the sound of gunfire but did not observe any suspicious individuals nearby.

No injuries or damage to property have been reported in connection with the shot.

Officers at the scene discovered a shell casing on Union Street.

Further investigation led to the acquisition of surveillance footage from a local business, which captured a male at the intersection of Merrimack and Union Streets.

The individual, wearing a red jacket and black pants, is seen firing a weapon into the air before heading north on Union Street.

Authorities are now seeking assistance from the public to identify the person involved in the incident.
