Wardsboro man arrested for burglary, trespass in late-night home invasion

WARDSBORO — A 22-year-old local man was arrested late Thursday night after allegedly breaking into an occupied home, demanding money and car keys from the resident.

State Police said they responded to a call at 11:21 p.m. reporting an intruder at a S. Wardsboro Road residence.

The homeowner, Leslie Bianchi, 67, reported the man entered her home uninvited and made demands before leaving.

Troopers located Tony A. Locke, 22, near the property.

Locke, also a Wardsboro resident, was taken into custody and transported to Westminster Barracks for processing.

Locke has been issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on Dec. 26 at 8:30 a.m. to face charges of burglary and trespass.
