Motorcyclist seriously injured in Shrewsbury crash

SHREWSBURY — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Hartford Turnpike around 5:56 p.m. on Nov. 16.

Shrewsbury Police, along with Fire services and Worcester EMS, responded to the scene of the accident.

The motorcycle was traveling westbound when it collided with the eastbound Jeep.

The motorcyclist was transported to UMass with serious injuries, while the Jeep driver did not require hospitalization.

The road was closed for approximately four hours to facilitate a crash reconstruction investigation led by Officer Tim Charland of the Shrewsbury Police, with support from the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) team.

The investigation involved the use of a drone and assistance from officers from Charlton, Webster, Rutland, and Auburn.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
