ST. JOHNSBURY — A 60-year-old man was cited for unlawful trespass after refusing to leave a local supermarket, authorities said Thursday.

Vermont State Police responded to a call at the Market 32 Price Chopper on Memorial Drive at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 9.

The man, identified as Ralph Morale, was found on the property after having been banned from the premises for an indefinite period following an incident more than a year ago.

Troopers arrived to find Morale at the store and confirmed that he had previously been issued a trespass notice.

After the investigation, Morale was cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on Dec. 18 at 8:30 a.m.

Following the citation, Morale was escorted off the property by a third party without further incident.
