LYNDONVILLE — A routine traffic stop on Broad Street led to the arrest of a West Burke man wanted on a warrant for outstanding jail time, Lyndonville Police Department officials said Thursday.

At approximately 7:57 p.m. on Nov. 16, an officer pulled over a vehicle driven by Justin Witt, 39, for a traffic violation.

A check revealed that Witt was wanted on a Vermont Department of Corrections Return on Mittimus warrant.

The warrant mandated Witt to serve six days of jail time he owed.

Witt was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility, where he will complete his sentence.

The vehicle Witt was driving was impounded by B&B Towing following the arrest.
