ST. JOHNSBURY — A single-vehicle crash on Higgins Hill Rd led to the arrest of a Concord man on multiple charges including suspicion of DUI-Drug and providing false information to police, authorities said.

Vermont State Police responded to the incident at approximately 6:41 p.m. on November 17, where they encountered 41-year-old Timothy Briggs.

Initially identifying himself as a passenger, Briggs attempted to blame an unnamed third party for the crash.

Upon further investigation, Troopers determined that Briggs was, in fact, the driver at the time of the accident and exhibited signs of impairment.

After screening, he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Further inquiries revealed that Briggs was operating the vehicle on a criminally suspended license and was in breach of a court-ordered condition of release.

Following his arrest, Briggs was processed at the VSP St. Johnsbury Barracks and subsequently released to a sober party.
