WEYBRIDGE — A local woman was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly violating a court-issued order against stalking.

Vermont State Troopers responded to a reported disturbance on LaFountain Lane at about 11:15 a.m. Upon arrival, authorities found that Eva Trudeau, 36, had contacted 70-year-old Violet LaFountain, despite a standing order prohibiting such action.

Trudeau, a resident of Weybridge, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the New Haven Barracks for processing.

Following the processing, she was released with a citation to appear in the Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, to face charges at a later date.

The court order in question was not detailed in the Troopers’ report, and the nature of the initial stalking incident leading to the order was not disclosed.

The date of Trudeau’s court appearance has yet to be announced.
